The Autumn Edit
A short collection, bought in one afternoon and argued over for a week. It lands as the light turns: quieter than what is on the shelves now, and heavier in the hand.
A first look — none of these are in the showroom yet.
I — Weight
Heavier than it looks
Everything here is heavier than the piece it replaces. Not larger — heavier. A vase you move with two hands gets set down deliberately, and then it tends to stay where it was put.
II — Light
Chosen months ago, for October
We saw all of this in spring and bought it for the way the light falls later in the year. Linen goes translucent by four in the afternoon and a glaze stops being one colour. Anything that only works under a shop light is something we got wrong.
Why these pieces
None of it was picked for how it photographs. Everything here should do something once you have had it a month — the candle burns down without tunnelling, the throw softens rather than pilling and fraying.
I keep coming back to the tea light in the amber jar. It will be the cheapest thing in the edit and the one I would replace first if it broke.

III — Use
It should stack
Nothing in this edit is a single object. The bowls nest, the linen folds down to almost nothing, the trays go one on top of another in a cupboard. A season of things you can put away.
