Four materials run through everything we buy — not a house style so much as a set of things we keep being drawn back to. Each piece earns its place for what it does in a room, not for how it photographs.

I — Weight and cool

Stone

Chosen for what it does to a room's temperature rather than its pattern. Pairs with linen, resists everything else.

II — Grain and age

Wood

Oiled rather than lacquered, so the surface keeps moving. Every piece arrives pale, and darkens unevenly wherever it gets handled most.

III — Slack and light

Linen

Bought for how it falls, not how it photographs. Creases are the point; a flat linen is a failed one.

Thrown, not cast. We accept the variance that comes with it — matched pairs are not something we can promise.
